Plastic Canvas Snowman Ornament

Plastic canvas is a fun material to work with because it is durable. For kids it is also an excellent material to teach them different stitching techniques. This snowman was made using the fuse bead snowman pattern found here. He will look not only cute on the tree but is also a colorful window decoration for the kids room.

Plastic Canvas Snowman

Time required: 1-2 hours

Difficulty Level: Easy

Material List:

- plastic canvas
- fringy yarn in the following colors: black for the hat, eyes, mouth and bow; red for the cherry and bow, glittery green
for the ivy leaves on the hat and white for the snowman face
- glittery blue yarn for the hat band
- orange yarn for the carrot nose
- tapesty needle

Instructions:

1. Print out the pattern here and follow the chart to complete the snowman. You may have to double your yarn if it is not thick enough to cover the canvas. Make sure to stitch accurately so the backside looks almost as good as the front side and hide the yarn beginnings and endings under stitches.

2. Cut out the snowman when finished. Then stitch around the plastic canvas edge with the coordinating yarn to cover up the plastic canvas edge.
