Christmas Recycling Craft - Santa Coat Flower Pot

Create an instant holiday plant or flower pot cover within minutes for your desk at work or even for a special place in your home. This is such an easy craft project using just a small can from your kitchen and construction paper.

 

 

Christmas Craft - Recycling Craft using Cans - Santa Coat Plant or Flower Pot

Time required: about 15 minutes

Difficulty Level: Easy

 

Material List:

- small clean can
- red paper that measures the height of
  your can - the length is the width of
  the can + 2.5 cm or 1 inch overlap
- black paper that is 2 cm or 3/4 inch
  high and the same length of the red
  paper
- 2 cm or 3/4 inch wide paper that
  measures the height of your can
- a piece of yellow square that
  measures 3.5 x 3.5 cm or 1.4 x 1.4
  inches and has a cutout in middle that
  measures the height of the black
  paper
- strong double sided adhesive
- scissors or craft knife
- ruler
- stick glue for adhere the papers to
  each other

 

Instructions:

1. Cut your paper to the sizes found in the material list.

2. Glue the white strip of paper down the middle of the short end of the red paper.

3. Now glue the black strip across the middle of the long end of the red paper.

4. Glue the “yellow buckle” to the middle of the black paper.

5. Now you are ready to adhere the paper to the can. Stick double sided adhesive to the backside of one of the short ends of the red paper. Adhere this now to the can. Pull the paper around the can and now add double sided adhesive to the other end of the red paper so that you can stick and overlap it over the beginning end.
