Christmas and Winter Decoration - “Clay Pot Winter Trees”

These trees are so easily made and can be used, for example, as decorations for a Christmas or winter village setting, a forest setting or any other way you like.

Wintery Clay Pot Trees

Time Required: Only a few minutes to paint them, glue them together and later add the sparkle but drying time is needed in between the different layers or coats.

Difficulty Level: Easy

Material List For One Tree:

- three clay pots in three different sizes that fit well when placed over
each other and decreasing in size as you go up
- white paint and paint brush
- craft glue
- paint brush for applying glue onto the pots
- iridescent glitter
- sparkly star embellishment

Instructions:

Clay Pot Winter Tree Tutorial 1
1. First all of the pots you are making need to be painted white. You may need more than one coat of paint if the color of the pot shows through.

2. Once the paint is dry, place glue on the inside of the middle pot and place it then onto the largest pot. Press down to make sure it is sticking well. Then place glue in the smallest and uppermost pot and place it then on the middle pot. Press the pot down to make sure it is fitting well. Before continuing, let the glue dry.

3. Brush a thin layer of glue over the entire tree. Shake glitter completely on the wet glue and cover the pot. Place the pot aside to dry. Once dry, brush off any excess glitter. Glue the star embellishment to the top of the pot. Since the pots used here had a hole, the star point was glued into the hole to cover it up.

Glittery Clay Pot Winter Trees
These trees are simple and sparkly, just like the white trees you see in the forest after the snow has fallen and when the light of the sun hits them.
