Wooden Snowman Christmas Ornament

This idea is perfect if you like to cut wood but are not too into painting the details. By using paper napkins, you can create all sorts of wooden ornaments or figures for your holiday decorating needs. Glitter adds a sparkle to the project but can be left away if desired.

Glitter Wooden Snowman 330b

Time required to make one ornament: about 2 hours (because of drying time)

Difficulty Level: Easy

Material List:

- Plywood
- paper napkin with motif of choice
- paper napkin applique glue
- paint matching main color of motif
- scroll-saw
- iridescent glitter
- wire for hanging
- drill with 1.5 mm bit

Instructions:

1. First, remove all but the top layer of the paper napkin. Apply the motif to the piece of plywood by following the instructions found a the link below by Craftideas.info:

Paper Napkin Applique Instructions.

2. Let the motif dry completely before continuing.
3. Saw the motif exactly out with the scroll-saw.
4. Paint the sides of the motif with the matching color and let dry.
5. For the glittery effect, add a coat of paper napkin applique glue to the motif again and shake glitter over the wet glue. Tap off excess and let the figure dry.
6. Drill holes at the top of the figure and insert the wire from the backside to the frontside. Coil the ends to keep the wire from slipping through the holes.
